South Coast Business Development Organisation

...his approach was both practical and professional with his previous experience in the small business development sector proving invaluable.

We initially asked David Duncanson to do a brief review and prepare a business plan for the South Coast Business development Organisation. The plan was presented to the Board and found to address all the issues. Circumstances then dictated that we required somebody to run the organisation for three months while the Board recruited a new Executive Officer. We asked David to help out and his approach was both practical and professional with his previous experience in the small business development sector proving invaluable. He recommended to the Board a number of innovative procedures with many being adopted.

We used Kirkgate Consulting to undertake a business review of Kingstown Barracks on the Island. This was a particularly complex task involving consultation with a number of individuals and organisations. We found David's approach to be thorough and professional and his findings certainly generated a lot of debate amongst staff. David has a wide ranging knowledge of the tourism industry which combined with his economic development background brought a fresh approach to the project.

City of Fremantle

David has excellent project management skills in the area of economic development and marketing. The city undertook a new direction in marketing in 2008 and I have pretty much left David to develop that business for the city – and he has met/exceeded my expectations.

The end result was a strategy which was practical and gave Elected Members real direction and staff actions to follow through.

The City of Armadale recently contracted David Duncanson at Kirkgate Consulting to develop a tourism strategy for the City. We realised this was going to be a bit of a challenge as tourism has not in the past been a priority for Council and it was important to get somebody who understood the workings of Council and how that related to tourism. David and his team approached the project in a very professional and methodical manner and suggested a couple of innovative approaches which we had not thought of. The end result was a strategy which was practical and gave Elected Members real direction and staff actions to follow through. All in all a very positive result.
